Eight artists representing seven deadly visions and the eighth invisible style born out of the aerosol
medium by Ikonoklast, the United Kingdoms most diverse and innovative Graffiti artists.
The show was on from 30th May - 12th June `98. Featuring the art of
Arcae, Craze, Cryse, Juice 126, Part 2, Rough, She One and System
who are all members of the Ikonoklast movement. An exhibition and small sample of the work
created when the artists are not out painting Graffiti in it`s natural habitat. It also stands as
proof that the Graffiti artists can adapt to any environment, through always living everyday
with Graff. Painting and bombing, watching the videos, reading the books and then taking it into
the home through canvas` and Graffiti artwork. After a crazy two days sorting out the space, and
a hectic last few hours hanging the paintings, the show went up. Thanks goes to Prime for
helping us put up the work. We started a little late, but it all looked good when the doors finally
opened. The DJ`s piled on some good tunes and the night went well. There was a good mix of
aerosol on canvas, digital graphics and personal work from all of the artists. And most of the
artwork for the show, including graphics, should be within these pages. And this is probably a
safer place to see them. Halfway through the week the storms came, and water poured into the
run down gallery space. Did anyone spot the bucket hanging from the roof? No paintings were
harmed during the course of the event and besides that everything went well. If you ever visit
the gallery take your rubber boots and a hard hat - just in case. Luckily this wasn`t the case on
the weekend Sat 30th. Beautiful sunshine saw a return to the legal Graffiti site "Blueprint Gallery"
at Selly Oak park where we painted without restraints. Joined by the artists Zuki, Korsa and
VOP`s Ser, Dane, Mear and Opti. Check everything out in these pages.
